Swing
Fever has kept the big band sounds alive since
1983. The band continues to entertain east coast
audiences at private parties, wedding receptions,
anniversaries, and other functions.
Public
dances are also a large part of the group's schedule.
The band hosts it's own dinner dance at the historic
Sunnybrook Ballroom in Pottstown, PA, each November.
The
big band era will always be connected to the war
years of the 1940s. Swing Fever has become well
known for its Stage Door Canteen Show, done with
authentic uniforms, announcements, and all the
trimmings. The performance gets more popular with
WWII events each year, the biggest being the annual
WWII Commemorative Weekend at the MidAtlantic
Air Museum in Reading, PA each June.
The
bands repertoire covers the classic music of the
thirties and forties, plus more contemporary numbers.
Performing often for ballroom dancers means the
band covers a wide variety of rhythms and dance
styles. The vocalists, the Serenaders, and an
emcee/announcer complete the musical package.
Swing
Fever has performed on cruise ships, on European
tours, as well as all over the eastern United
States. If swing is your thing, contact the band
to arrange a booking. We'd love to play for you!
